Loreto López

Loreto López González it’s a chileand anthropologist that works studying the memory. She’s part of the “ Programa Psicología Social de la Memoria”, which it means that her contribution it’s about (mainly) the Torture centers, like Londres 38 and Villa Grimaldi, for example.
Today this topic is very important, because this area of the anthropology helps us to understand the dynamics of the detention centers of the military dictatorship. She actually wrote some works about the importance of the memory, and of the reconstruction of history, based in the cases of Villa Grimaldi and Londres 38. Her degree thesis explains that the memory has a social importance, that's why we have to reclaim the ex centers, to reach the true and to remember our comrades that were torture in this places that are hidden by the autorities.
I found her because I had to do a History work about Londres 38, so we had to work with the concepts of memory, that's how I found her degree thesis (Lugares de memoria: narrativas de la represión) which explains the importance of the memory and the true.
